The goal of ACCES is to provide a coherent approach to CE research through actions that benefit the entire engineering community at EPFL and promote a spirit of collaboration and interaction. The results of these activities will improve the quantity and quality of scientific output in CE and raise the profile of EPFL in this important domain.
Given the current widespread needs and interests in CE within the School of Engineering (STI) and the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC), it is essential that they are organized and coordinated by these faculties. ACCES aims to enhance individual laboratory projects in the CE area, facilitate cross-fertilization of ideas and collaboration on multi-disciplinary research projects, and encourage activities at the EPFL, national and international levels.
A wide range of engineering applications will profit from ACCES, as indicated by the large number of ACCES Member and Network Laboratories.
