Olli Salo

Olli manages the team responsible for IT infrastructure and office IT services for the Blue Brain; including storage, data center computing (HPC, cloud computing, container platform and traditional virtualization), desktop computing, software development tools and monitoring services.

Before joining the Blue Brain, Olli worked for CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd, where he was a Team Manager for their Cloud Solutions team and the Product Owner for their cPouta Public Cloud and ePouta Virtual Private Cloud. His career at CSC also included working as a Systems Specialist (Scrum Master and Product Owner) for some of Finland’s educational sector services, including Oodi Student Information System and EXAM Online Examination service.

Prior to this, he spent 11 years with the University of Helsinki, where he was a group lead for the educational and scientific IT services. During his career at the University of Helsinki he steered several IT projects, including, the adoption of Moodle LMS and leveraging Opencast Matterhorn video backend/infrastructure throughout the University.

Olli has an MA in Education and spends his spare time with his spouse and two Samoyed dogs. In addition to the dogs, he enjoys travelling, cooking, trekking and naturally learning new things.
