EPFL Drone Days 2019
Drones were back for the 3rd edition of the EPFL Drone Days.
From 13 to 15 September 2019, the leading specialists and the best pilots converged to EPFL for this annual event of flying robotics.
If Switzerland is the “Home of Drones”, EPFL is one of its cradles. It is also at the center of a Drone Valley that includes both industry leaders and visionary start-ups: senseFly, Flyability, Pix4D, Windshape, Foldaway Haptics, Dronistics, Picterra.
For a weekend, EPFL was the meeting point for all players in this technology of the future.
Flying at 150 km/h, the best pilots of the moment will battle with their drones at the heart of the EPFL campus.
Outside the race, drones fitted with brightly-colored LEDs will create a magical show on Saturday night.
Take control of a drone and just fly – with a little bit of help from our experts.
To know everything about the latest innovations, security and sport in the field of drones.
It’s a world first – the future has never been so refreshing!

The EPFL Drone Days are a joint collaboration between EPFL, Aéropoly, Drone Industry Association Switzerland (DIAS) and the World Air Sports Federation (FAI).
AéroPoly was born out of the desire to share the passion of flying in all its forms with the largest number of EPFL students and staff. It has as a mission to promote air sports on the campus and to organise aerial activities. It also aims to support EPFL teams in competitions, for example in international contests.
Drone Industry Association Switzerland is the entity federating Swiss drone companies. Its purposes are to facilitate embracement, use and acceptance of drones (a.k.a. unmanned aerial systems), represent, support, defend and promote Swiss drone companies, specifically with a focus on export, and engage with other associations and groups facing similar challenges.
The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, FAI – The World Air Sports Federation, was founded in 1905.
It is a non-governmental and non-profit making international organisation with the aim of furthering aeronautical and astronautical activities worldwide. It is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
For its organisation, the drone race benefits from the support of the FPVM Club volunteers
The FPVM Club is a non-profit association whose purpose is to bring together FPV drone racing pilots. It was created so that pilots are able to train and develop their skills within an organized structure.
