Vice Presidency for Responsible Transformation (VPT)
The Vice Presidency for Responsible Transformation was created to ensure that everyone at EPFL has the opportunity to live up to their full potential, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or any disability.
Our School aims to give engineers the skills they need to develop sustainable responses to the major challenges facing our planet, conduct cutting-edge research R&D on climate-change related issues, and make EPFL an exemplary campus for green, smart solutions.
To achieve these goals, we need the entire EPFL community to get actively involved. So send us your suggestions and ideas!
EPFL Sustainability strives to turn the campus into a living lab and responsible community, in particular by fostering and supporting student involvement.
The Equality Opportunities Office draws up action plans to foster equal opportunities.
The FAPE Foundation manages childcare on the EPFL-UNIL campus.
Helping to ensure EPFL is a Safe Space
A new initiative to support LGBTIQ+ communities at EPFL has been launched, creating a space for dialogue and growth, and helping our campus to be more inclusive and attentive to LGBTIQ+ topics.
Networking and skill-building to fight against climate change
The first official edition of EPFL’s Climate and Sustainability Action Week will take place in September 2021. A pilot version, which was held in February, led to the implementation of two student-led sustainability projects.
Two decades of promoting women's issues
International Women’s Day Series – When she was just 27 years old, Hélène Fueger was hired by the University of Fribourg to serve as its new Women’s Issues Officer. She began to tackle, on her own, the tricky issue of gender equality there. In 2006 she was selected to head an EU program on mentoring opportunities for female students and postdocs, and she joined EPFL in 2015 as equal opportunities delegate.
