Get the drivers (Mac, Linux)

This page give access to the PPD files for the myPrint Canon printers.
Generic drivers may suffice to use the printers, however the drivers given below are intended for the myPrint pool printers.

Download the PPD

Mac OS :

In principle, drivers should be located in the following directory :

/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/

Warning :

We recommend to the OS X users to use our myPrint auto-install script who installs the drivers by itself. Use those PPD files if you know what you’re doing.

From Catalina, the PPDs must be placed in the “Applications” directory in order to be imported during the installation of the printer.

Linux :

You should paste the PPD file in the following directory :

/usr/share/cups/model/

You can copy the url address of the links above, then use the command

wget -P /usr/share/cups/model/ <paste the url here>

In order to place the file directly in the right directory.

Those drivers let you specify more options at the printer’s interface, so it is recommended to install them.

Driver installation

If you’re looking for another driver, constructor’s sites also offer several drivers ; our new model is called : imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C5860i

Follow the indications to install the driver, like for any installation. You will need the administrator password of the computer.
