Making the transition to university life

Good-bye high school, hello college!

Your high-school days – with teachers carefully noting every time you are late for class – are over. You’re now free to come and go as you please. And while that freedom can be exhilarating, there are some things you should keep in mind.

On one hand, student life is filled with new discoveries: you’ll meet lots of interesting people and learn loads of interesting things. But the workload will be huge – you’ll have to spend a great deal of time studying, starting on day one.

So you need to be sure that your new-found independence does not sabotage your chances of success.

We’ve put together some tips to help you do well at EPFL while staying healthy, happy and motivated.

Manage your time wisely
Get organized
Don’t procrastinate
Eat right
Be considerate of your roommates
Stay in touch with your parents
Manage your budget
