Practical information

All practical information you need in order to plan your visit to EPFL on September, 14th and 15th can be found below.

EPFL will be opening its doors on Saturday, September 14th from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday, September 15th from 10am to 5pm. The event will take place on the Lausanne campus, in Ecublens.

Getting here by public transportation

The EPFL campus is served by metro line M1 (from the Renens and Lausanne-Flon metro stations) and by bus (from Morges).

  • From the Lausanne train station: Take metro line M2 towards Croisettes and get off at Lausanne-Flon. Then take metro line M1 towards Renens station and get off at EPFL. Approximate travel time from the Lausanne train station: 30 minutes.
  • From the Renens train station: Take metro line M1 towards Lausanne-Flon and get off at EPFL. Approximate travel time: 10–15 minutes.
  • From Morges: Take MBC bus number 701 towards Lausanne Bourdonnette and get off at St-Sulpice Paqueret or St-Sulpice Parc Scientifique. Approximate travel time: 20 minutes.

Getting here by road

By school bus/coach

On the highway, follow signs for Lausanne-Sud and take the UNIL-EPFL exit.

There is a drop-off point for buses on Avenue Piccard, which can be reached from the local Lausanne-Morges road, but buses are not permitted to park there. Teachers should instruct the drivers to use the off-campus parking lots.

Parking

All the car parks on campus are available on the day of the Open House, except Esplanade car park.

Think about your camera! You can photograph and film everything that happens during the EPFL open house, as long as you respect the privacy of other visitors.

Official EPFL photographers and cameramen will take photos and videos during the EPFL open house, which is a public event in a public area. By attending this event, you agree to be photographed and filmed and you authorize EPFL to use the images for communication or archival purposes.
