Transient Stability in a Large Power Network

EOS_Pict1

This example illustrates the potential of SIMSEN to simulate large power networks (No restriction on the network size).
The additional Load-Flow program calculates automatically all the initial conditions (Phase currents, field currents and rotor positions of synchronous machines). The results can be used to determine the transient stability of the entire network.

The simulation results show the transient behavior of a large 465 MVA hydro-generator after a three-phase short-circuit on a 400 kV transmission line.
All the results of all the elements present in the network can be saved and analyzed after the computation.
The Load-Flow operating point has been successfully compared with measurements.
