Healthy

Too much butter and salt? Not enough vegetables? Starting on 28 September 2020, the meals available at EPFL will be more well-balanced. Almost all catering points on campus will be nutriMenu-certified. This scientific tool evaluates and corrects the nutritional quality of your meals on a daily basis according to national recommendations. The aim is to provide healthy, balanced meals and transparent information about the quality of the food being served on campus. As part of our efforts to offer healthier alternatives, we have decided to ban foods containing palm oil and glutamates, often found in sauces, stock and soups. And some meat products imported from abroad will no longer be available either. All fish will be certified by Friends of the Sea, the Marine Stewardship Council or the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. Lastly, starting in September 2020, half of the menus on offer will be vegetarian.
