Nurse consultations

Primary consultation
The nursing team performs a clinical assessment (request, symptoms, history, physical examination) and offers you appropriate care, which can include referral to an external health professional.
Emergency contraception
The “morning-after pill” can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sexual intercourse to avoid an unwanted pregnancy. The nursing team can refer you to an external health professional if necessary. Chargeable service (25.– to 35.– CHF).
Routine immunizations
The nursing team performs booster shots for routine vaccines. Chargeable service, except for the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine. Cost depending on the price of the vaccine. Remember to bring your immunization record to the appointment.
STD screenings
The nursing team is at your disposal and will suggest the appropriate tests (HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and C). Chargeable service costing from 10.– to 65.– CHF depending on the test. In the case of unprotected sexual intercourse during the previous 48 hours, seek medical advice without delay or go directly to the CHUV’s Emergency Department.
Healthcare
After assessing the situation, the nursing team can provide the adequate care (injections, removal of stitches, dressings, etc.). If you have a medical prescription, please bring it to the consultation.
Individual support
Students and PhD wishing to have temporary medical support or advice can arrange a psychiatric and psychotherapeutic consultation on EPFL campus.
