Application
Who may apply to EDMX?
- Master’s students with a degree in a relevant discipline.
- Candidates with a 4-year or 5-year Bachelor’s degree in material science, physics, chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, nanotechnology, computer science or similar disciplines may apply explaining the specifics of their education in the Statement of Objectives letter. Prerequisites and additional courses during the first year may be required.
- Students currently pursuing a Master’s degree will be considered for application, provided that the degree is awarded before the start of the EDMX program.
Any applicant who has already completed a doctoral thesis in a similar or related subject to the field of Materials Science and Engineering cannot be admitted as a doctoral candidate to this program.
How to apply to EDMX?
To apply to the doctoral program in Materials Science and Engineering, the candidate is requested to complete and submit an online application. Beforehand, we encourage you to visit our web site to get an idea of ongoing research in Materials at EPFL and to go to the Doctoral School homepage. The deadlines for applications are April 15 and December 15.
