NaPhoD nanohybrids for Photonic devices

NaPhoD is a multidisciplinary transnational project involving chemists and physicists that has as aim to synthesize and study a new generartion of “peapods”: nano-hybrid systems composed of a photoactive organic semiconductor (pea) inside the carbon cage of a single wall nanotube (pod). For these nano-objects new exciting propoerties are expected stemming from theire low dimensionality, their nanometric size and from the interaction of the electronic state of the pea and the pod.
