EPFL – Alain Herzog
The Center for Intelligent Systems at EPFL (CIS) is a collaboration among ENAC, IC, SB, STI and SV that brings together researchers working on different aspects of Intelligent Systems.
In order to promote exchanges among researchers and encourage the creation of new, collaborative projects, CIS is organizing:
Event Series

This Seminar series is a CIS initiative that brings together and invites professors and researchers from EPFL and all around the world working on different aspects of Intelligent Systems to discuss the current state of the art.

Each seminar allows one of our professors from EPFL to give an overview of her/his current research and interests. Please note that this seminar is geared towards to an EPFL audience.

Collaboration and networking are crucial in the advancement of research and are key pillars of the CIS’ activities. We are thrilled to announce a new series of talks: the “CIS Network Seminars”, where we will invite experts from our network to share their work.

RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP) which houses more than 40 research teams ranging from fundamentals of machine learning to analysis of ethics and social impact of artificial intelligence teams up with the EPFL CIS for a monthly online seminar series around the topics and applications of AI.

The machine learning course CS-433 taught by Nicolas Flammarion and Martin Jaggi has a large diversity of projects done by the students. In this lecture open to the public, some of the student groups will present their project in a short 3min pitch, with some prizes to win.

The Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) is the main machine learning conference. We have decided, following up to the conference in the US, to organize a local mid-scale event on the EPFL campus, and to invite anyone who had an accepted contribution at NeurIPS to apply for one of our talk and/or poster slots.

This workshop aims to bring together students and young researchers from EPFL-CIS and RIKEN-AIP and discuss the latest achievements and challenges of machine learning.

The summer school covers broad topics related to Edge AI. You will learn about designing Edge AI algorithms, systems, and applications.

The goal of [email protected] day is to gather faculty, researchers and students who work or are interested in applications of machine learning to science.
