Not a setting but it is important to note that you need to be authenticated through the EPFL VPN when wanting to edit a WordPress site outside of EPFL.
All new sites / sites under construction is hidden behind a ” Coming soon “. Note that this doesn’t stop you from authenticating yourself as it is simply a plugin used to stop Google from logging those links in its search engine

WordPress comes with certain default settings. It is important that you look and modify them to your needs.

WordPress can be organised as a static site (Hierarchical structure, Homepage and secondary pages), as a blog with posts (Chronological structure) or both.

All the images and attached files like PDFs are managed in the ” Media Library “, ordered by either name or date.

By default the homepage displays a list of recent posts from your site. Edit this setting to make the homepage static, for example to display a short introduction to the purpose of the site.

The created pages do not automatically appear in the menu. You must manually add them.

WordPress can manage the site content in multiple languages. The available languages in all the ned WordPress sites depend on the type of site, but site Administrators can always add or remove a language.
