International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN)

The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) is a global network of close to 100 universities that aims to embed sustainability in education, research and campus operations.

ISCN Presidency and Secretariat

EPFL has hosted and presided over ISCN since October 2019. Dr. Etienne Marclay, EPFL Vice President, is the President of the ISCN Board. Dr. Silvia Hostettler at EPFL Sustainability, in collaboration with Victoria Smith at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, hold the executive lead of ISCN and are supported by the ISCN Secretariat based at EPFL Sustainability.

All interested EPFL students and staff are most welcome to join ISCN public events.

EPFL will host the next ISCN annual conference – ISCN 2021: Accelerating Climate Action and Sustainability in Education at the SwissTech Convention Centre from the 2-4 June 2021.

The International Sustainability Campus Network’s (ISCN) 14th conference took place in June 2021 and was attended from some 30 countries on all continents. Hosted virtually by EPFL on the theme “Accelerating Climate Action and Sustainability in Education”, it offered several lessons for the future.
