In order to help extend the lifespan of smartphones, we have set up an at-cost repair service on our Lausanne campus. The service is available every day from 12pm to 2pm at the Poseidon premises.
Point Smart is based on the same model as Point Vélo, in that repairs will be done by student assistants at cost price: only spare parts will be charged.
Point Smart services (non-exhaustive list)
- LCD screen repair
- Back screen repair (except iPhone brand)
- Battery repair
- Front/rear camera repair
- Speaker repair
- Charging socket repair
- Camera lens repair
How it works
Point Smart is open:
- Every day from 12pm to 2pm
- At Poseidon, room MA A0 393
You can book an appointment on ServiceNOW using your GASPAR login.
You will be given an initial 15-minute consultation in order to assess the state of your phone.
It is essential you back up your personal data before coming to the appointment. We are not responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair.
The initial assessment is non-binding: if you accept the proposed service, your phone will be taken for repair and will generally be ready for collection between 4pm and 4:30pm the same day. You will be informed if the repair requires additional time.
You will be asked to pay for the repair when you collect your device. Payments can be made only via Camipro. A summary of repairs will then appear on your ServiceNOW ticket.
Drawn by the desire to understand and solve the technical problems we face every day, I quickly found myself immersed in the world of phone repair.
For me, Point Smart is more than a repair service. It’s a mission to reduce our ecological footprint by extending the life of devices.
Skilled with my hands, I like to touch everything. At Point Smart, every challenge stimulates my curiosity. New situations are opportunities for me to push my limits.
Changing my phone because of a faulty battery would be like trading in my car because the tank was empty!
For me, Point Smart embodies a rewarding exchange with students. Solving their problems gives them new perspectives and they contribute to a larger cause.
Smartphone healer in my spare time for many years, I love to give life to devices that the common man considers as dead and buried.
Trying to fight against obsolescence and waste, I am proud to be part of the Point Smart team.
For me, Point Smart is a place where people arrive stressed and anxious and leave relieved with a smile on their face.
