EDRS For applicants

Study plan

The study plan of the EDRS program requires 12 ECTS credits.

The study plan for candidates accepted with conditions is established case-by-case by the EDRS program. As reference example, for candidates having obtained a technical 4-year bachelor degree or a non-technical master degree, the EDRS program requests the acquirement of at least 18 additional ECTS credits (for instance, 10 credits through project work and 8 through course work), in addition to the 12 compulsory credits. Finally, the additional credits must be acquired during the first year of the doctoral studies.

The EPFL Doctoral School will soon launch two calls for applications for EPFLglobaLeaders, a new doctoral fellowship programme funding early stage researchers to become leaders in the transition towards sustainable societies. Forty-eight doctoral fellows will benefit from a multifaceted training programme, including a secondment in the non-academic sector. More information: https://go.epfl.ch/EPFLglobaLeaders
