EPFL graduate Jakub Tarnawski has received an honorable mention in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)’s annual Doctoral Dissertation Awards for a PhD dissertation which tackled two of the most central problems in the field of combinatorial optimization.
Each year, in order to highlight the excellence of our doctoral candidates’ research work and scientific merit, the EDIC program grants an EPFL Distinction for exceptionally high quality theses. The EDIC Committee carefully evaluated the theses of nominees who passed their public defense between September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2020, and rewarded the top 8%. The laureates receive a diploma and an engraved pen.
Listen to what they have to say about their experience in the EDIC program.
