Public transport

The EPFL campus is connected to surrounding towns by the M1 metro, the TL and MBC buses. It is located close to the Lausanne, Renens and Morges railway stations.

Discount on the GA pass

Each EPFL employee is entitled to a discount of 15% on the purchase of an adult or junior 1st or 2nd class General Abonnement (GA).

Free half-fare card (1/2)

Each employee hired for at least 50% and for a minimum of 12 months can demand a free half-fare pass.

Subsidies on regional travelcards

EPFL staff can request a 25% subsidy on the purchase of a Mobilis, Onde verte, Car Postal or Unireso (soon).

Train dans le Lavaux


Some municipalities (including Lausanne, Pully, Epalinges, Le Mont, Paudex) subsidize the purchase of public transport passes for university students. Please check with your Commune if subsidies are granted.

Daily pass

Do you have to keep moving despite health restrictions? With the daily pass it’s easy to order one or more trips up to 60 days in advance. Valid in all Mobilis zones and without SwissPass


EPFL Antennas

Students (bachelor and master) engaged in a study project taking place in an EPFL antenna are entitled to reimbursement of their public transport costs.

Train dans le Lavaux

Swiss Federal Railway (SBB)

The Renens, Morges and Lausanne SBB train stations are the closest ones to the campus. Timetables, routes and tickets via the SBB mobile app or the website.

Métro - Arrêt EPFL

Lausanne region public transport (tl)

The M1 metro line and bus 31 connect the EPFL campus to Renens and Lausanne city-centres every 5 and 15 minutes respectively. Timetables, routes and tickets via the TL app or the website.

Morges-Bière-Cossonay public transport (MBC)

Bus 701 connects the EPFL campus to the town-centre of Morges and the Bourdonnette neighborhood (Lausanne). Bus 705 also serves the EPFL campus. Timetables, routes and tickets via the the MBC website.
