Mathieu Porez

Post-Doc, Biorobotics Laborator, EPFL

Short Bio

Mathieu Porez has MSc in Materials, Mechanical engineering and Fluid Mechanics from Université de Lorient in France (2003). In 2007, he obtained a PhD of Control, Robotics and Signal Processing from the Université de Nantes (France). He made his PhD thesis at the laboratory IRCCyN of Nantes (France), which the topic was the dynamic modeling of a self-propelled eel devoted to robotics. He continued theses research activities at Ecole des Mines de Nantes (France), where, in the context of ANR RAAMO project, he worked on the optimization of swimming forward gaits and on the design of a 3-D BEM (Boundary Element method) solver for study the electric sense of eel (i.e. electrolocation). He joined the Biorobotics Laboratory in February 2009 where he is pursuing a Post-Doc to work on the Angels project.
