Technological Innovation for Impact in the Global South

Tech4Dev is the dedicated global South program of Tech4Impact. The program focuses on innovation acceleration and aims at bridging the theory-practice gap in order to develop and implement innovative technological solutions that can scale and reach a growing number of beneficiaries in the global South.

The Tech4Dev Program will focus on providing experience-based education, promoting impactful entrepreneurial solutions, as well as innovative cross-sector research projects – all focused on the beneficiaries’ needs and opportunities in countries of the global South.

Practical technologies for the global South

The Tech4Dev program connects EPFL researchers with NGOs in order to develop technologies able to address specific needs in the global South and withstand local conditions. Four projects have been awarded grants following the first call for proposals.

From a super-tough incubator to a pillow that turns off the internet, Global Grad Show highlights design innovations

This year, the ideas were selected from 1,600 submissions from 270 universities in 60 countries. Held in Dubai, the show is an interactive annual exhibition, which has gone virtual for its sixth year.
