Lifestyles, modal choices and mobility behaviors in Strasbourg

The objective of this project is to analyze the data from different surveys conducted in Strasbourg area regarding resident typology, mobility patterns, modal choices and travel behaviors.

The previous collaboration between the Urban Sociology Laboratory (LASUR) and the Agence de Développement et d’Urbanisme de l’Agglomération Strasbourgeoise (ADEUS) has lead to a cluster analysis of modal choices strategies in the Greater Strasbourg. As a follow-up, this project aims at analyzing and comparing data of household-travel surveys, conducted in the Greater Strasbourg in 2009, and building EPFL’s mode choice typology based on those datasets. The modal choice typologies based on household-travel surveys data will then be linked to the effective mobility practices.

This research project is composed of three independent modules that will last six months. It is conducted by the LASUR under the supervision of Sébastien Munafò. It is sponsored by the ADEUS.
