The main objective of the project is to constitute what could be considered as a virtual research institute.
Network of Excellence: Advanced Road Cooperative Traffic management in the Information Society (NEARCTIS) is an academic network involving teams working on the field of traffic management and optimization, with a particular focus on cooperative systems.
In 2015 a thematic group “Traffic management” was launched in Brussels, related to the NEARCTIS network. The main action plan is targeting three objectives: the definition of a research agenda to influence EC policies and programmes, the increase in participating in EU and international projects, and the provision of a platform for networking, training and scientific exchanges.
