Loyalty Bonus

A fidelity bonus is granted at the end of the 10th year of employment with a central unit of the Confederation (excluding the Post Office and the Swiss Federal Railways), and then after each period of service of 5 years (art. 45, OPers-EPF) (only in French). This bonus can be granted in the form of :

·       additional vacation time,

·       the corresponding amount paid out of salary,

·       or a combination of both.

The bonus is granted on the day it falls due to personnel with a permanent employment contract (CDI).

The bonus is calculated on the basis of the rate of activity and the annual salary in effect on the day it is due. If the amount is paid out, social security contributions, with the exception of Publica, will be deducted from the amount of the bonus.

Loyalty days may be used in the same way as “normal” vacation days, granted to employees for a given calendar year and on the basis of their employment contract. (see GTA, p.5, article 18)

From 1 June 2023, loyalty days are subject to a quota independent of the usual holiday days. Loyalty days granted prior to this date and not yet used in full are included in the holiday balance.
