Vice Presidency for Education

Learning from the past, building on the present and imagining the future

The Vice Presidency for Education (VPE) manages EPFL’s degree programs. It makes sure all our programs deliver high-quality content and encourages research in the educational sciences. The VPE has a three-pronged strategy: give students the skills to adapt to rapid technological change; promote cross-disciplinary projects and hands-on learning; and anchor EPFL’s reputation as a university at the forefront of teaching innovation. We strive to not only equip students with solid technical skills, but also to instill in them a desire to continue learning throughout their lives – and give them the resources to do so. That means trying out novel teaching and learning methods and using cross-disciplinary projects to teach students how to confront open-ended problems. We believe this will help spark their creativity and enable them to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Our school currently has over 11,000 students. Learn more about our Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD and continuing education programs.
