Project: “Being-and-acting in sporting world: Linking prereflective consciousness of what is meaningful in situation to brain activity”

CROSS research project investigators

Summary

The aim of this project is to identify brain activity signatures corresponding to the athlete’s experience that emerged during the achievement of sport performances. We will attempt to mix and correlate psycho-phenomenological and neuroscience data for the study of situated experience conceived as the perception of “being-and-acting” in a meaningful world.
The first part of the project will consist in testing the possibility of collecting high-quality EEG data with a wearable system during multiple sport performances and to uncover relationships between these data and first person accounts. The second part of the experiment will consist to compare expert to novice’ activities in a small number of sports situations, previously identified as potentially suitable for analysis with our mixed approached.
