Simulation Neuroscience
Molecular Systems
Eleftherios Zisis is a PhD student in the Molecular Systems Section within the Simulation Neuroscience Division.

His focus is on building structural networks of neurons, glia and the micro-vasculature. This includes:
– Spatial organization of all three in space (how they are placed, their spatial relationships and morphological characteristics)
– Connectivity – how astrocytes project to the vasculature and to neurons and how they connect and communicate with their neighbours in space.

Eleftherios has a Master Equivalent Degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, and a Masters Degree in Life Sciences specializing in Computational Neuroscience from EPFL.

Outside of work, Eleftherios writes stories and enjoys photography.
