Since 1 January 2017, Marc Gruber has been Vice-President for Innovation (VPI) at EPFL.
Marc holds a doctorate in management from the University of St. Gallen. He joined EPFL in 2005 to head the Chair in Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization. Previously, he was Vice-President of the Institute of Innovation, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Munich. He was also the Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre at the same university. His research focuses on innovation, strategy and entrepreneurship.
Marc Gruber was appointed Professor of Technology Management at the College of Management in 2010. Since 2009, he has been in charge of the Master’s and Minor’s degrees in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. Since 2013, he has been Associate Editor and then Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Academy of Management Journal, the leading research journal in the field of management.
In an independent study, Marc Gruber was ranked among the top five global researchers in entrepreneurship between 2000 and 2015.
