Postdoc in low noise image sensors

Your mission:
Low noise CMOS image sensors have recently been developed at ICLAB. The aim of the post doc project is to build the bridge between this sensor technology and various applications. The first targeted application is second harmonic detection in nonlinear microscopy for high precision manufacturing applications. The higher sensitivity of the sensor together with the gating synchronization are expected to bring dramatic improvement to this microscopy technique. This idea has been the subject of a recently granted Innosuisse project.

Main duties and responsibilities include :
Study the developed CMOS image sensor and realize the test setup
  • Propose and implement further improvements to customize the sensor for the application
  • Conduct experiments in nonlinear microscopy using the developed sensor
  • Propose and implement improvements to the system, including: Sensor, PCB and optics, labview/VHDL control
Your profile:
Solid background in solid state photonic devices
  • Proved experience in ultra-low-light CMOS image sensors design and characterization
  • Proved experience with optical setups for imaging
  • Solid background in:
– electronic devices
– circuit theory
