  • Convex optimization
  • Stochastic optimization
  • Machine learning
  • Image processing

Biography

Bang received his Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from Vietnam National University (VNU) Hanoi in 2006. He then obtained his PhD from Université de Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France in 2013. His research was focused on optimization, mainly on monotone inclusions in duality. From 2013 to2015, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory for Computational and Statistical learning, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Iit) in Genova, Italy.

He was postdoctoral researcher with the Laboratory for Information and Inference Systems at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. His research interests are in the areas of convex optimization, stochastic optimization,  machine learning, and image processing from 2015-2019.
