Junyao Zhao (2017)

Internship project topic:

Robust submodular maximization, submodularity in non-convex optimization.

Biography

I was born in China in 1993. I am a Master candidate in the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich. I received the B.Eng. degree in Software Engineering from Tongji University in 2015. Previously I worked on the intersection between approximate inference and submodularity, and efficient second-order methods for convex optimization. My current research interests lie in both theoretical and algorithmic perspective of optimization (discrete, convex, non-convex) and their application to machine learning.
