The Master in Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship attracts many foreign students and thus allows students to immerse themselves in an international and multicultural environment where English is the natural language for both classes and communication between students.

Exchange students Conditions

As an exchange student, you will be able to take courses as part of the MTE program. Please note that there are conditions and limitations imposed on exchange students depending on your situation.

Students exchanging in the Management of Technology (MTE) section

Students who exchange in the MTE section can take any courses of the master in Management, Technology & entrepreneurship (MTE) curriculum, except:

  • MGT-410 Applied Corporate & Industry Analysis (MTE master only)
  • MGT-400 Corporate Strategy
  • MGT-406: Design in innovation: creation for adoption
  • MGT-413 Entrepreneurship & New Venture Strategy
  • MGT-432 Data science for business
  • MGT-555 Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Engineering
  • MGT-469 Intercultural Presentation Skills
  • MGT-468 Leading and managing in a global context
  • MGT-510 Performance Management
  • MGT-482 Principles of finance
  • MGT-466 Negotiation Techniques
  • MGT-401 Strategic Marketing & Technology Commercialization
  • MGT-526 Supply Chain Management
  • MGT-417 Value Chain Management in Practice
  • FIN-411   Accounting for Finance
  • ME-498   Continuous Improvement of manufacturing systems

At the end of Week 2 of each semester, The MTE section will cancel all registrations that do not follow these rules.

Students exchanging in other EPFL sections or students HEC-UNIL

Students who exchange in another section of EPFL or students HEC-UNIL can take only following courses in the MTE curriculum, depending on their section:

  • MGT-404 Management of Intellectual Property – for students exchanging in Life Sciences
  • MGT-408 Transitions, sustainability and Public Policy – for students exchanging in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • MGT-411 Innovation Management in the digital age – for students exchanging in Life Sciences
  • MGT-418 Convex Optimization – for students exchanging in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in Mathematics and in Mechanical Engineering
  • MGT-427 Management de projet et analyse du risque – for students exchanging in Civil Engineering and in Microengineering
  • MGT-454 Principles of Microeconomics – for students exchanging in Mathematics, in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and in Financial Engineering
  • MGT-483 Optimal Decision Making – for students exchanging in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and in Microengineering
  • MGT-484 Applied Probability & Stochastic Processes – for students exchanging in Life Sciences
  • MGT-448 Statistical Inference and Machine Learning – for students exchanging in Financial Engineering and in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • MGT-416 Causal Inference – for students exchanging in Financial Engineering and in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (not taught in 23-24)
  • MGT-462 New Space Economy – for students exchanging in any sections and for students HEC-UNIL
  • MGT-464 globalisation, robotics and the future of work – – for students exchanging in any sections and for students HEC-UNIL

Once the second week of the semester is over, the MTE section will cancel all the registrations that do not follow these rules.

MTE do not only teach us some management/technology knowledge and skill, but also asks us to take an engineer minor, which is very important in the future career development for me. This unique study plan will maintain our engineer professionalism and make us a cross-discipline talents. What’s more, the classmates and staffs in MTE are all very inclusive and collaborative.
