Gallery

The EPFL Gallery block is made of two parts which are nested. The block itself with its properties and which includes the gallery which has others.

This distinction is important in order to understand how to proceed, where to click in order to make the appropriate modifications.

Add a new gallery

  1. Add a Gallery block
  2. Click the Media Library button if the images are already in the Media Library or the Upload button if they are not.
  3. Select the images
    Recommended size: 1920×1080 px or 16:9 ratio
  4. Click on the Create a new gallery button
  5. Click on the Insert Gallery button

Display options

Gallery size

  1. Select the block by clicking on the Gallery title.
  2. Enable Large Display to make the gallery extend across the width of the page or disable this option to make the gallery display the same width as the text (default).

Thumbnails

  1. Select the block by clicking on the Gallery title.
  2. By default the gallery displays thumbnails of the images. Disable this option if you do not want thumbnails.

Edit a gallery

Add images

Warning: the way images are added depends on whether the images are already in the media library or not.

Image not present in the media library

  1. Select the block by clicking on the Gallery title (a blue line now appears around the gallery)
  2. Click on Upload an image
  3. Select the image to add
  4. Repeat the operation to add more images.

Image available in the media library

  1. Click on an image in the gallery
  2. Click on the button in the gallery toolbar
  3. Click on the Add to Gallery link on the left
  4. Select the desired image(s)
  5. Click on Add to Gallery
  6. Click on Update Gallery

Change the order of the images

  1. Click on an image in the gallery
  2. Click on the button  in the gallery toolbar
  3. Click and drag the images to put them in the desired order.

Remove images from the gallery

  1.  Click on the image to be deleted and then click on the button at the top right of the image
