The Student Life Experience department (VPH-SLE) supports students throughout their time at EPFL and contributes to excellence by promoting integration, academic success, and empowerment. It serves students, PhD students, and staff members responsible for supporting them.
Student Services Desk
The Student Service Desk is the first point of contact for any questions, concerns, or difficulties you may encounter while studying at EPFL. The team is there to provide answers directly or, if necessary, refer you to the specialists best suited to provide you with information or assistance.
Housing Information
The housing Information can provide you with information about the various housing options in the Lausanne area and the steps you need to take, depending on your status.
Social Consultation
The Social Consultation provides individualized support when you’re facing difficulties and helps you find the right resources. Thanks to its knowledge of EPFL’s internal and external networks, it can refer you to the contacts best suited to your situation. It also supports administrative teams, faculty members, and student organizations when signs of potential distress are identified.
Social Scholarships
EPFL offers financial aid to combat financial hardship and enable students to continue their studies. One-time financial assistance is also available in the event of exceptional and unforeseen circumstances that suddenly and temporarily jeopardize a student’s studies.
“Admin Support” Help Desk (Pilot project)
The purpose of this help desk is to help you obtain all the information you need to make informed decisions, to provide you with guidance, and to assist you in the areas of social security law, labor law, lease agreements, and immigration law.
