Hosts: Andreas ZÜTTEL, Wen LUO The first lab based near ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (NAP-XPS) in Switzerland is installed at EPFL Valais/Wallis in Sion. The instruments allows to investigate the surface chemistry of materials on an atomic level. The surface is the interface between the solid and the gas phase (atmosphere) it is where the interaction of molecules in the gas phase with the solid takes place i.e. where heterogeneous catalysis occurs. |
