PhD Candidate Positions in Computer Vision

EPFL’s Computer Vision Laboratory has openings for PhD candidates interested in modeling the shape and connectivity of neurons from light and electron microscope images, augmented reality, and people tracking.

Education:

Masters degree in Computer Science or related field with experience in the areas of Computer Vision or Medical Image Processing. A strong background in Mathematics is desirable.

Post-Doctoral Fellowships

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on issues related to co-design for aerodynamic shape and control along the lines described in this tech report. A potential target application is the design of model gliders to compete in FAI competitions.

Potential candidates are expected to have: 

  • A doctorate in an aeronautics-related field. 
  • A good knowledge of Control Theory, both classical and deep learning based. 
  • A solid publication record in top level ML venues such as NeurIPs, ICML, and ICLR. 
  • An interest in going beyond theory all the way to a flying prototype.
