Granting signatory right

A signatory right may be granted to an EPFL employee:

  • for all existing and future funds of a cost centre (by clicking on the cost centre): up to CHF 5’000.-, and exceptionally up to CHF 50’000.-
  • for one or several specific existing funds of a cost centre: up to CHF 5’000.-

A signatory right may be granted at the request of:

  • the head of financial unit: the request must subsequently be approved by the relevant finance officer
  • the finance officer: the request must subsequently be approved by the relevant head of financial unit
  • the unit administrator: the request must subsequently be approved by the head of financial unit and finance officer
  • the fund manager: the request must subsequently be approved by the head of financial unit and finance officer

Any creation of a signatory right must be jointly approved by:

  1. the head of financial unit
  2. the relevant finance officer

Once approved by both these persons, the signatory right becomes effective immediately.

The head of financial unit, the finance officer, the beneficiary and the unit administrator (if an unit administrator has been assigned) all receive an e-mail confirming that the right has been created.

WARNING !

Heads of unit / professors are responsible for their cost centre. Granting a signatory right does not delegate this liability.
