Subject: collaborative construction and interpretation of mindmaps for knowledge sharing

Presenter: Pierre Cattin

Participants: 29

After a short presentation of mindmaps by Pierre Cattin, which included a contest of flying objects and a video by Tony Buzan, the participants sat at five tables, each table selecting a subject to work on. The five subjects were:

Sports
Communication
SKMF
Person
Concrete

Each participant created an individual mindmap of the their respective subject. Each table then created a collective mindmap. To create this collective mindmap, the participants had to share and explain their individual mindmaps. They then had to negotiate which aspects would be included in the collective mindmap. After some time, the participants were asked to switch tables. One person stayed with the mindmap they had created and the others went to other tables. The person who stayed at the table was responsible for explaining their mindmap to the new members. Once this information was shared, they could continue extending the mindmap. In the end, the collective mindmaps were presented and shared with the whole group.

Very lively discussions were held throughout the evening about the use of mindmaps for individual knowledge creation and group knowledge sharing.

Our many thanks to all the participants.
