3 key dates for your academic start 2026

Matriculation

Students with a foreign diploma: matriculation on Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd of September 2026 between 9:00 and 16:00 (your presence is mandatory on one of these days). Registration for a time slot mandatory. Further details regarding this event will be communicated at early September. Students with a Swiss maturités/Maturitäten: uploading the diploma via the application form is sufficient.

Welcome Day

Friday 4th September 2026. The mandatory Welcome Day allows you to explore the campus and learn more about EPFL. Further details regarding this event will be communicated later on.

Start of classes

Classes start on Monday 7th September 2026. Check your timetable online.

Your first academic obligations on the IS-Academia portal

Personal details
At the start of each semester, you are required to validate your personal and academic details in the Academic Registration Form, using the “FRAC” tab. The deadline to validate the FRAC form for the autumn semester is 18th September 2026.

Enrolment certificate
Once you have validated your personal details, and after we have received your payment for semester fees, your enrolment certificate will be available in the “personal details” tab.

Course registration
Course registration is done directly by the secretariat of the CMS.

Intensive French course (on-campus)

2 weeks of intensive French classes before the start of the academic year from 17 to 28 August 2026. Registration: from 26 May to 12 July 2026. Open only to holders of a Swiss-German or Swiss-Italian high school certificate.

CMS

All information regarding the “Cours de Mathématiques Spéciales” (CMS) preparatory year can be found on the website of the CMS.

Administrative information

EPFL account
After your admission has been confirmed, you will receive your GASPAR account (EPFL username and password) during the summer. It enables you to access secured EPFL services, such as your personal mailbox, the Moodle platform, etc. Find out more at “Resources for students“.

Student card
You will receive your student card, called CAMIPRO card, either by post (Swiss diploma) or on matriculation days (foreign diploma). This card must be updated every semester in a CAMIPRO terminal. It allows you to enjoy various services and advantages.

Integration week

From Friday 28th August to Wednesday 2nd September 2026. A festive week to meet other EPFL students and discover the area. Registration: registration will be open at the beginning of August on the website.
