  • STI Faculty Centre of Competence in EDM: 2 or 4-axis wire machining or sinking. Erosion is particularly profitable when it comes to obtaining complicated shapes or working on hardened or difficult to work metals that are electrically conductive. Erosion operations allow small quantities of metal to be removed without creating stress.
  • CNC milling: Machining of complex shapes, 3D shapes, moulds.
  • CNC turning up to 4 axes: Machining of specimens for materials testing.
  • Milling, turning, drilling, surface and cylindrical grinding on conventional machines to respond quickly to simple requests.
  • WaterJet cutting of complex 2D shapes in a wide range of materials.
Technical studies: CAD and CAM feasibility to make projects feasible with the resources available.
  • Welding: Brazing, spot welding, MIG / MAG and TIG of stainless steel and steel.
  • Ceramic machining: precision cutting, tube cutting.
  • Maintenance of rotary vane vacuum pumps for the IMX.
  • Apprentice training: Every two years, a new polymechanic apprentice is trained over a period of four years to obtain his polymechanic CFC, with the possibility of an integrated technical diploma.
