ATPR

Workshop of the Institute of Production and Robotics.

Combination of skills in laser cutting, milling, turning, conventional and CNC drilling. Machining of small parts.

Mechanical clock created by ATPR at the request of INSTANT-LAB © Alain Herzog / 2016 EPFL

ATPR has a staff of 6 and currently serves the microtechnology and bioengineering sectors at its Lausanne site, as well as Neuchâtel and Sion. In addition to conventional mechanics, its expertise extends to specialised areas of small-scale mechanics and laser cutting. And since 2019, the workshop has also been handling diamond turning for several laboratories.

The workshop is equipped with 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC milling machines, standard and twin-spindle CNC lathes, a laser cutter and several conventional machines.

  • Conventional and CNC milling: Machining of simple and complex shapes, 3D shapes, moulds for PDMS.
  • Conventional and CNC turning : Machining of various cylindrical parts.
  • Polishing: Possibility of polishing the surfaces of PMMA and stainless steel parts.
  • Technical studies: CAD and CAM feasibility studies to make projects feasible with the resources available.
  • Welding: Brazing, TIG welding, microplasma welding of aluminium, stainless steel and steel.
  • Surface treatment: Bead blasting (impact surface treatment process)
  • Dimensional control: Optical measurement of small parts.

Small self-service workshop available to authorised persons: staff and students who have undergone the necessary initial training in accordance with the annexed regulations. It consists of drills, lathe milling machines and bench tools. It is also possible to use a small CNC milling machine after completing a 2nd training course.. Pour plus d’informations ».
