ENAC Summer Workshop
The ENAC workshops (4 ECTS) enable students to apply their theoretical knowledge in interdisciplinary projects, either before or during their Master’s degree. They can be integrated into the study plans for Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, and Architecture.

The summer workshop, open to ENAC students, explores textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) in sustainable school construction, with a particular focus on its application in the Global South. The project develops full-scale TRC elements for a secondary school in Africa, building on previous research by EPFL and Brazilian architect Lelé. The workshop also studies the use of limestone calcined clay cement (LC3) for TRC. Students will design, test and analyse TRC-LC3 elements.

During the summer workshop in Somerset, students explore drawing as a fundamental tool in architecture and civil engineering. Through research in the Drawing Matter collection and the construction of study drawings and spatial fabrications, drawing is studied as a physical means of measuring and designing the environment. The workshop includes full-scale construction and collaborative discussions, supported by lectures and interactions with the Drawing Matter collection.
