BEYOND 2020 Conference in Göteborg
The Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg (Sweden) organized the international BEYOND 2020 conferenceon 2-4 November 2020. On this occasion, the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) presented two conference papers concerning its research on the integration of the challenges of the transition to sustainability into architectural and urban projects.
Bertrand Vignal, partner of the landscape designer firm BASE, was the guest of Prof. Emmanuel Rey’s studio at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST). Entitled “Mesological experiments”, his lecture allowed students to understand the main challenges of these constantly changing territories and to discover several projects developed by the agency along the Rhône.
Towards low carbon facades
Realized in collaboration with multiple academic and private partners and with support from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in the framework of the National Research Programme “Energy turnaround” (NRP 70), the “Advanced Active Façade” research project is presented in the last edition of the journal “Holzbauer”, dedicated to research and innovation. The interdisciplinary approach included the development of a novel construction system for low carbon residential facades.
