Forum des transitions urbaines lectures online
Organized jointly by the Ecoparc Association and the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST), the Forum des transitions urbaines took place on September 3 in the Microcity auditorium of the EPFL campus in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). Entitled “Réinventer les rives urbaines?”, the event enabled participants to discover a wealth of projects, studies and developments underway in urban territories in transition. Videos of the lectures are now available online.
Designing public spaces
Sonia Curnier, post-doctoral fellow at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala, Sweden, was the guest of Prof. Emmanuel Rey’s studio at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) to talk about different considerations between the built and the unbuilt in urban areas. Entitled “Concevoir l’espace public : influence du bâti sur la qualité de vie urbaine”, her lecture allowed students to discover the evolution of concepts and issues specific to the design of public spaces as well as examples of contemporary public places.
Geo-narrative of risk in the rhodanian territory
Bertrand Vignal, partner of the agency BASE, was the guest of Prof. Emmanuel Rey’s studio at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) to talk about landscape interactions in fluvial territories. Entitled “Géo-récit du risque : Le projet de la 3e correction du Rhône – Installation d’une infrastructure de paysage, territoriale et climatique”, his lecture allowed the students to understand the main challenges of these constantly changing territories and to discover several projects developed by the agency.
