Towards more adaptable buildings for a society in transition ?
Prof. Emmanuel Rey of the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) was invited to write a column simultaneously broadcast in several Swiss newspapers like Le Nouvelliste, Arcinfo and La Côte on modular architecture. The article highlights the challenges and potentials of this type of approach, between the search for adaptability and transitions towards sustainability.
Closing event of NRP 70 "Buildings and settlements"
For more than five years, the National Research Programmes NRP 70 and NRP 71 of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) helped identify the main components of the energy transition, in particular in the field of "Buildings and settlements". Organized on October 17th at the SwissTech Convention Center at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a closing event was held to present the main results of research carried out in this context, including the work of the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) on the architectural integration of photovoltaic systems.
The 2019 City of Ecublens Prize for a project carried out at LAST
Célia Küpfer's master's project, carried out at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST), received the City of Ecublens Prize, which was awarded to her during the recent Master's degree graduation ceremony 2019. Her work focuses on the theme of re-use in design and construction processes.
