Closing meeting of ACTIVE INTERFACES
In the context of the energy transition, the ACTIVE INTERFACES research project – coordinated by the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) – provided the opportunity to develop new strategies for the concrete consideration of building-integrated photovoltaic systems (BIPV) into the urban renewal processes. Celebrating five years of fruitful interdisciplinary collaboration, a final meeting on June 4th brought together the project partners at Château d'Auvernier, one of whose buildings houses an integrated photovoltaic roof.
Exhibition of the architectural design studios of the EPFL
On May 28 to 29, 2019, the architectural design studios of the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) opened their doors to the public. Entitled " Ubiquitous Exhibition – Do Make Think ", this event was conceived as a simultaneous exhibition of each design studio work during the past academic year. In this context, the studio of Prof. Emmanuel Rey presented the work carried out at different scales on the theme of the creation of a new fluvial neighborhood in Sion.
Teaching through the studio, a research question?
The first research seminar of the network PédagAU (Pédagogies de l’aménagement et de l’urbanisme) took place on May 9 at Sciences Po Paris. Entitled “teaching through the studio, a research question?”, it focused on the specificities of studio learning. On this occasion, Sara Formery presented some specificities of the approach developed by the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) within the framework of the project “Rhodanie urbaine”.
