Commelec at the EMPA NEST

We are implementing our real-time control framework at the NEST building in the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology – EMPA (www.empa.ch).

The NEST (https://www.empa.ch/web/nest/overview) is a building that hosts several energy resources, thermal and electrical, and it is planned to be connected to the Mobility Demonstrator Move (https://www.empa.ch/web/move).
This heterogeneity of resources together with the grid characteristic (see Figure below) makes this a perfect case for implementing Commelec.

The system will host 8 PMUs, 12 resource agents and 1 grid agent, while the microgrid overall-objective will be to be able to operate autonomously as long as possible.
