Uncovering Correlated Activity on French Twitter

Laboratory : LSIR Semester Proposal

Description:

It’s time to put the detective hats on and venture forth! Digital Sherlocks to the rescue!

France has seen major events in last 3 years, a brand new leader, a movement to depose this brand new leader and a victory of a not so brand new leader.

All meddled with trolls and bots which we will expose in this fun project!

Briefly you will do the following:

  1. Uncover content promoters with correlated activity.
  2. Identify which content they promote.
  3. Come up with a framework to track such correlated activity in an automated fashion relying on free Twitter API.
  4. Study the potential impact of artificial promoting. (Optional)

Deliverables: datasets, codebase, results of analysis, a nice presentations with visualizations that you can do interpretations on.

Requirements: Data analysis skills in Python and Pandas and interest in the topic. French language is required.
