Eligibility
The targeted basin of participants is PhD students, Master students may be accepted too, and more senior researchers from both academic and industrial institutions are also allowed to attend. The organizers will have the right of making a selection among the applicants.
Participant number is limited to 30 students. In case we receive more applications than available seats, the International Organization Committee will make a selection. One of the selection criteria will be the registration date.
Application Requirements
The selection committee requests:
- A motivation letter
- A recommendation letter from your School or Institution
- Payment of the registration fee (In case of admission only!)
The fee includes coffee breaks, lunch, dinner, gala dinner and accomodation ( 5 nights in double room, June 5th to 10th ).
Cost of travel to Saas-Fee is borne by the participants.
If you have financial concerns and are eligible for fee reduction, please contact the School Director with a valid document as proof.

Requirement for participants
On practical side virtual computers with required software preinstalled, will be provided. Students must come with their own laptop needed to connect to provided virtual computers with a Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). No software installation is needed on the laptops except RDC which is normally installed on Windows and available on Mac.
Students who do not have a laptop should mention it in the application form, so that arrangements can be made to provide laptops for the duration of the school.
Pandemic situation
Since the essence of the school is to provide a hands-on experience and an excellent opportunity of direct exchange between teachers and students, the school is planned for in person attendance. In time, if the EPFL regulations change according to the pandemic situation, they will also apply to the school rules (for example, attendees may be required to present a valid COVID certificate for attendance).

Complete and submitted applications will be evaluated by the IOC. Admission confirmation and information about next steps will be emailed to selected participants.
- April 17th 2022: Application is closed.
Note: The application portal may close earlier if all available seats are already attributed.
- May 15th 2022: Deadline for receiving the application fee.
- June 6th-10th 2022: Summer School in Saas-Fee.

As the School is held in Switzerland please read about visa requirements to come from your country. If needed, please request an invitation letter from the School Director, please do so as soon as possible.
