HTML Code

HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, the main language used to create web pages. Browsers (Safari, Chrome, FireFox, Internet Explorer) read the code and display the pages as we see them.

When editing pages or articles, the content is displayed in Visual mode. However, it is sometimes useful to be able to edit the content using HTML code, either to add formatting not available with the Visual Editor, or sometimes to understand and correct some display problems.

To edit the HTML code you can either use the code tool in the Classic Paragraph block or display your entire page in HTML code

Using Classic Paragraph

  1. In the Tools menu of the Classic Paragraph block choose <>Source Code
  2. Insert code or modify existing code
  3. Click OK when you are finished.

Display the page in HTML code

  1. Click on the More tools & options button in the top right corner of the window.
  2. Click on Code Editor. The HTML code is displayed
  3. Insert code or modify existing code
  4. Click on Exit Code Editor just above the right of the page code
