At the intersection of life sciences, imaging and art, Voir Est Savoir celebrates the richness of scientific imaging and the beauty of sciences over many scales.

Join us at the Hall SV to discover 21 stunning and captivating art works unveiling the diverse universe of life sciences at EPFL, get inspired and vote for your favorite image.

Thanks to an initiative from Gisou van der Goot, this year we are delighted to present two magnificent ball gowns created by Saki the Artist. These dresses were made from upcycled single-use plastics sourced from laboratories. Our SV Sustainability team will organize two events to mark this occasion.

  • An exhibition and competition to celebrate the richness and artistic aspects of scientific imaging

  • A way to amaze, illustrate knowledge and inspire to discover a new universe in images

  • An exhibition in the SV Hall that will take place from September 23 to October 10, 2025

  • A series of prizes awarded through a public vote

  • An award ceremony and poster session that will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 during lunch time

Staff and students of EPFL having produced images with a direct link to a scientific project ran at EPFL in relation to life sciences and/or microscopy in the broad sense.

  • Winners will be informed per email and publicly announced during the award ceremony. Only winners present at the ceremony can win.

  • Winners receive a small prize and all participants can keep their printed visual

  • All images will be promoted through the  digital channels of the EPFL School of Life Sciences

  • The voting will take place using an online voting form from September 23 to October 7, 2025
