Photonic Micro- and Nanosystems in the Quack Group

Our research focus lies in engineering photonic and optoelectronic systems with extraordinary performance. Utilizing microsystems fabrication technologies, we investigate Optical Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) and nanophotonic structures. Examples of such systems include high-Q optical and mechanical resonators, high port count and low loss optical switches, tunable infrared detectors, low phase-noise optomechanical oscillators, and laser beam steering devices.
