Sites

We work in field sites in natural forests and urban environments (e.g., Geneva and Lausanne) across Switzerland and worldwide. Some field sites include experimental manipulation of soil and air moisture, such as the Pfynwald VPDrought site in a mature Pinus sylvestris forest that you can see in the video below (https://www.epfl.ch/labs/perl/perl-home/research/vpdrought-a-novel-approach-to-disentangle-atmospheric-and-soil-drought/). Other networks of sites are located along elevation gradients in the southern Alps (Saillon, Valais, Switzerland) and include monocultures and mixtures to study the role of biodiversity. Moreover, we regularly conduct field expeditions in forested sites worldwide in collaboration with international partners.
